View the future, as it was envisioned in 1956, with this short film produced for the General Motors Motorama (an auto show put on by GM from 1949 to 1961). A little song and dance, futuristic kitchens, a touch of fashion, and cars. Really cool looking cars.
While watching the kitchen of the future portion I realized something. In the future, it is important for a button or switch to be a certain distance from the thing that it controls. This idea of controlling something “remotely” may catch on.

Oddly, I’m actually quite familiar with this fun little short! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9nHxwzw-2o
I’d read about this being featured on MST3K. Never got into that show myself – I’d rather just watch the movies sans the witty banter.
Some films are unwatchable without the banter. I saw the MST3K movie in the theater. so I had the experience of the audience wisecracking back to the wisecrackers on the screen.
